After he’d managed to shake off ana fell, he continued to go through the area—where the hell had Elinor Anderson had disappeared off to?! He knew how… potentially unhinged his cousin had gotten, had he not been around to snap her out of whatever it was she was about to do…

That was terrifying, at least.

Plus, every other step he took was ‘leaking’ frost… something was definitely off about him, and the radio silence in the back of his head was still unsettling.

Where had his companions gone off to?!

He was looking pretty open for an attack…

Paranoia has a bitter taste, and Killian's not sure of its source. This place? The hours he's spent without rest? A combination of the two? He - they needed it gone. [break][break]

Killian spotted Laurence Anderson from a distance. The misting of frost trailing in his wake was impossible to miss. "Articuno." Killian muttered, looking around for the deity. He didn't see the overgrown pheasant, but they'd see how long that lasted.[break][break]

Dropping Armarouge's Poke Ball, he ordered it to attack. Spiraling flames burned the air on their way path to Laurence Anderson back. When Lars eventually turned to look at his attacker, he'd see only the Armarouge. Fire burning brightly in its orange cannon..[break][break]

The first sound he heard is crackling flame; and that makes him turn around, almost getting a face full of whatever Pokémon had come sprinting out of nowhere to attack him!

Flames burning too bright, way too close to where he stood very nearly swallowed him had he not spun off to one side at the very last second; dropping a Dive Ball that popped out a surprised Feraligatr who ended up tanking the attack as Lars scrambled to collect his wits.

“Arthur, gah—sorry about that!” he apologized to the Water-type, who then rounded to face off against the strange Pokémon that had almost melted him. Without even blinking, the Water-type then countered back immediately with a Hydro Pump attack, aiming to hose down the strange Fire-type.

(Well, it looked like a Fire-type to him.)

• ~~surprise, you’re dinner~~
• Lars is almost incinerated by the Armor Cannon had he not dropped a Dive Ball with his Feraligatr to tank the attack at the very last second
• Feraligatr is surprised, then angry! Feraligatr used Hydro Pump to hose down the Fire(?)-type attacking him!

Steam erupted like a geyser as fire met water in a classic clash of elements. Armarouge lowered its arm, breathing heavily amidst the vapors. "Arma!" it bellowed in challenge.

Killian clicked his tongue. Where the fuck was that bird? They frowned. Did Articuno not care for its servant or was the current threat not enough to warrant its arrival? [break][break]

Time to change that.[break][break]

Killian crept closer to Lars as their Pokemon clashed. Growling, he lunged at that ranger, camouflage dropping to reveal a razor-lined tentacle. The thorne appendage threaten to wrap around Lars and pull him closer to Killian - to them.[break][break]

"Hello, Lars. Remember us?"[break][break]

Backed into a corner, the Water-type roared, before letting loose with a Screech as he moved out of the way of the Fire-type attack—drawing the attention of the strange Pokémon away from where Lars had—

“Wh—whoa!” he exclaimed as he felt himself lose his balance the moment something—something strange reached out to grab him; the power that was leaking out of him coming in fits and bursts as half the way the ground was frosting over.

He wasn’t… he wasn’t sure where he’d met this person before. Unless…

Another mild explosion of frost escaped him; this time settling in some strange kind of fine ‘dusting’ around the exposed parts of his body; ready to congeal and harden into frigid armor at a moment’s notice.

“Have we met—?” he continued, trying to get a closer look at—at whoever had grabbed him.

What a time to be ambushed, even!

• Feraligatr moved to avoid the incoming Fire-type attack and used Screech in an attempt to catch the other Pokémon off-guard!
• Lars.exe is confused and gets grabbed by the tentacle (oh deer)
• his avatar powers are bursting out of him at completely random fits and starts
• clearly he’s not exactly fully there, whoops
